'Elijah' first production at new I Am
Third

By ERIC J. LYMAN

ROME -- Film producers Conroy Kanter and Ecky Malick on Friday
announced the creation of I Am Third Prods., with plans to make the
company's first film based on the best-selling apocalyptic novel "Father
Elijah" by Canadian author Michael O'Brien.

The book tells the story of a Jewish Holocaust survivor turned Carmelite
monk on a secret Vatican mission to confront the Antichrist, with the future of
the church hanging in the balance.

Director Terrence Malick -- Ecky Malick's husband -- will serve as a special
adviser to the company, which will be based in Los Angeles.

Kanter and both Terrence and Ecky Malick will be in Italy next week for the
RomaCinemaFest, where Terrence Malick will participate in a special open
discussion about film as part of the festival's Extra sidebar.

"Father Elijah" will be the fourth production credit for Kanter, who also is
independently developing a film to be called "Morning Star and Moon."
